Obituary for WILLIAM DEAN MILLER
William (Bill) Miller was born October 9, 1928, in Marengo, Iowa to Harold S. Miller and Lois (Castner) Miller. He passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 14, 2011.
He married Elizabeth (Betty) Ann Godfrey and they had four children who survive him, William Dean Miller, Jr., Linda and Ron Vick, Fred and Cheryl Miller, Robert and Shelly Miller. He has nine grandchildren, whom he adored, Shawn and Ricardo Ramirez, Brandi Vick, Jason and Kelly Vick, Nichole and David Elliott, Marci and Michael Bean, Melissa and Matt Ring, Luke Miller, Benjamin and Laura Miller, and Grant Miller; five step grandchildren, Andy and Ricardo Ramirez, Jr., Katelynn and Emagin Pedersen, and Russell Elliott. His grandchildren have given him nine great-grandchildren with the 10th arriving soon, Austin Vick, Emily Elliott, Shelby Ramirez, Nicholas Vick, Adam Bean, Kaitlyn Elliott, Megan Vick, Mason Bean and Anthony Ramirez. He is also survived by Betty’s brother, Ted and Pat Godfrey; her sisters, Freda and Max Keller and Bev Mooney; as well as many nieces and nephews. Bill and Betty joined the Salvation Army and have many friends in the church.
His parents; his twin brother, Robert; his brothers, Harold and Ronald; and his sisters, Mildred and Mary preceded him in death. He had a good life and has gone to be with the Lord.
The family will greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Monday, May 16, 2011, at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue. Funeral services will be held 12 p.m., Tuesday, May 17, 2011, at the funeral home, with burial to follow at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army Temple Corps in loving memory of Bill.
