Obituary for Mr. Curtis A. Brendlinger

Curtis Arlen Brendlinger, 84, of Bechtelsville, formerly of Rockland Township, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 21, 2021 in his residence. He was the loving husband of Patricia E. (Webster) Brendlinger, whom he married on May 24, 1958.

Born in Pottstown, Curtis was a son of the late Curtis J. and Mabel A. (Berkey) Brendlinger. He was a graduate of Pottstown High School, West Chester University where he received his Bachelor's degree in Education and later, Penn State University, where he completed his Master's degree.

Mr. Brendlinger was employed by the Pottsgrove School District, Pottstown, PA, where he was an elementary and intermediate school teacher for 30 years until his retirement in 1989. He was a member of Salem Bible Church, Macungie, where he was active with several groups and committees.

In addition to his wife of 63 years, Patricia, Curtis is survived by his five children, Stephen K., husband of Kay E. (Bond) Brendlinger, Lenhartsville, Susan K. (Brendlinger) DiBuono, Temple, Daniel K., husband of Nicole B. (Matoska) Brendlinger, Red Lion, James K. Brendlinger, Orlando, FL, Jason S., husband of Megan A. (Cole) Brendlinger, Coopersburg; two sisters, Jean S. (Brendlinger) Reger, Engelwood, FL, and Linda L. (Brendlinger) Koval, Winter Springs, FL; nine grandchildren, Kara (Brendlinger) Lehner, Lauren (Brendlinger) Allen, Cody Brendlinger, Jennifer Garber, Kara (Garber) Shirley, Falicia (Soto-Cruz) Miranda, Brandon Weaver, Katie Brendlinger, Jamie Brendlinger; and eight great-grandchildren, Wyatt, Libby, Layla, Greyson, Mekhi, Aria, Parker and Thomas.

Along with his parents, Curtis was predeceased by his sister, Brenda A. (Brendlinger) Heebner.

A funeral service to honor and celebrate Curtis's life will be held on Monday, October 25, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. in Salem Bible Church, 8031 Salem Bible Church Road, Macungie, PA, with Pastor Kevin Schultz officiating. Burial will follow in Salem Bible Church Cemetery.

Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation on Monday morning from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. in the church.

The family requests contributions be made in Mr. Brendlinger's memory to Salem Bible Church, 8031 Salem Bible Church Road, Macungie, PA 18062, to benefit their Missions Program.
