Obituary for John E. Prettyman

John E Prettyman 94, a 40 year resident of Drexel Hill, died at the Broomall Nursing and Rehab Center.

Born in Philadelphia and raised in Absecon NJ, he had lived at one time in Secane and Yeadon. John worked as a technical rep for Multigraph, a printing and copy machine company, retiring in 1989.  John served in the Marine Corps during WW II, receiving a Purple Heart, air medal and he was also a Disabled American Vet..

John’s many hobbies included wood carving/burning and puzzles. He was an avid reader, enjoyed coloring books, the garden and birds. John was a member of the Sons of Italy, the Sacred Heart Seniors, the St. Kevin's Pioneers, was a fundraiser for the Deborah Heart Hospital. He had also served as Activities Director for PWP (parents without partners). A bowler at the Wynnewood Lanes and Sproul Lanes, he  was also  a  member Saint Dorothy’s Parish.

He  is survived by his wife of 39 years Gloria DeFeo Prettyman, his children Rosemary Lilly, Mike Prettyman, Kathy Janette, John Prettyman and Alismary Becker; also survived  by Gloria’s children, Nancy Rosenberg, Esther Zuppo, JohnVolpe, 14 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren

Service: Funeral Service will be 12noon Saturday, February 23, 2019, at Toppitzer Funeral Home at Arlington where friends may call after 11:00AM.

Interment: Arlington Cemetery, Drexel Hill, PA 19026

Contributions to the Marine Corps  Toys for Tots Campaign and/or other Marine Corps Charities would be preferred
