Obituary for Miles Vincent Buzzi

Miles Vincent Buzzi "Here he lies where he longed to be Home is the sailor, home from sea and the hunter home from the hill" -- R. L. Stevenson On March 21, 2017 Miles Vincent Buzzi completed his trek on Earth, which had begun July 20, 1938 in Akron, Ohio. Miles, Mike, or Mickey as he was known, was the eldest son of Vincent W. and Francis L. Buzzi. Mike spent his early life on North Hill attending St. Martha''s Parish School before graduating from St. Vincent Prep School in Latrobe, Pennsylvania. It was in high school he began to explore his artistic talent and paint. Mike returned home to attend Kent State University graduating and meeting his future wife, M. Loretta Hesidence. Mike used his artistic talents throughout his career. He worked in advertising and marketing for the Yellow Pages before moving on to Firestone. Later, Mike joined his father in the family business and became the 3rd generation to work for the North Hill Marble and Granite Company. After bringing the 4th generation into the business, Mike retired as President of the company. For those who knew Mike, his family, friends, and faith were central to his life. Kids'' events, Greenwood Gang barbecues, hunting or fishing trips, and his meetings with Bob were intertwined. He served on the IBH Board, worked with the Boys'' Town of Italy, and helped many organizations and individuals humbly through the years. He loved people though he never felt at total ease among them. He found solace in his solitude. He looked forward to his yearly retreats and simple hikes through the woods and hills of Southern Ohio. Mike was preceded in death by his parents, Vincent and Francis, and his wife, Loretta. He is survived by his loving children: sons, Miles (Jeanne), Steven (Julie) and Christopher and beloved daughter Judi. He is also survived by his wife, Marjorie and her children. He lives on through his grandchildren, Marlena Drought (Ryan), Jillian Buzzi, Megan Buzzi, Natalie Buzzi, and Ian Alexander. He is survived by his loving siblings, Paul Buzzi (Kathy), Thomas Buzzi (Maria), Jan Marie Buzzi, Ruth Ann Buzzi, and Mary Ellen Leonard (Michael); in-laws, David Hesidence, Judy Ley, and James Manning; countless nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. There was a special place in his heart for Dick, Dan, George, Butch, Beltine, the Lynchs, the Klies, and the Halls (RIP Clark). Calling hours Friday, 4 to 8 p.m., at the Ciriello & Carr FAIRLAWN Chapel, 39 S. Miller Rd. Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Anthony''s Catholic Church. Interment at Chestnut Hill Cemetery. Donations may be made in his honor to IBH, to the Abbey at Gettsemani, or The Children''s Hospital of Akron''s.
