Obituary for Maryland Mellie Bair

Maryland Bair was born in Allen county, Indiana, August 5, 1864; died at Waverly, Kansas. February 28, 1896. She early in life joined the Methodist Episcopal church and after moving to Waverly connected herself with the Presbyterian church, remaining a faithful member until her death. She was one of those who reflected Christ in her life. To know her was to love her. She, was a staunch and ·faithful friend, ready to lend a helping hand to those in adversity and gave freely of her loving sympathy to any who were in sorrow or bereavement. She was a girl of rimarkable talent and great purity of character. Her faith in Christ was firm and steadfast. Our hearts are sorrowful and lonely with­out dearest Mellie, but our loss is her everlasting gain. Her funeral services were conducted by the Rev. Elliot of Spring Hill , on Sabbath afternoon, the interment being in Olathe cemetery beside her beloved mother.
