Obituary for Margaret J. Desalvo

AUSTINTOWN – Margaret DeSalvo, 93, of Humility House Care Center in Austintown, passed away early Tuesday morning Dec. 31, 2013 at Humility House.

Margaret was born Oct. 23, 1920, in Youngstown, the daughter of James and Mary (Brogan) Kenneally.

Margaret was a member of St. Rose Church. She moved to Florida in 1969 and lived there until she came back to Ohio in 2006.

Margaret married John M. DeSalvo Sr. on Oct. 18, 1940. John passed away in May of 1980.

She is survived by four sons, John M. DeSalvo Jr. of Warren, Richard M. DeSalvo of Girard, Joseph P. DeSalvo of Boardman and Thomas P. DeSalvo of St. Pete Fla.; one daughter, Mary Margaret DeSalvo of Berlin Center; one brother, James Kenneally of Seabring; two sisters, Veronica Jeswald of Largo, Fla. and Alice Kenneally of Boardman; 13 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Margaret was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John M. DeSalvo Sr.; a son, Vincent DeSalvo; and nine siblings.

There will be calling hours on Friday, Jan. 3, 2014, from 4 to 6 p.m. at McClurkin’s in Girard.

A funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, Jan. 4, 2014, at 10 a.m. at St. Rose Church in Girard. There will be prayers at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday morning at McClurkin’s prior to the funeral Mass.
