Obituary for ROCCO S. CAMBRIA

Rocco S. “Rocky” Cambria Rocco S. “Rocky” Cambria, 82, of Mt. Penn, passed away on Friday, May 28, 2021, in Reading Hospital. Born in Reading, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Charles and Carmel (Tabegna) Cambria. Rocky was a 1957 graduate of Reading High School and the Philadelphia Barber School, becoming a licensed barber in 1959. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and while in the Army was the boxing coach of Fort Dix, NJ where he had the first Army Champion team in 1963. Before going in the Army, he was the first PAL Amateur Boxer of Reading and then had a few professional fights. Rocky became the owner of his father’s barber shop at 835 Washington Street Reading, Pa from 1960-2017. Rocky is survived by: Two Nephews, One Niece, Two Great-Nephews and Two Great-Nieces and many cousins. He was pre-deceased by his sister: Sylvia D. Elliott. Visitation with family and friends will be held on Friday June 4, 2021 from 9:00 am to 10:00 am in Lutz Funeral Home 2100 Perkiomen Ave, Mt Penn 19606. A graveside service will be held at 10:30 am in Gethsemane Cemetery, 3139 Kutztown Rd, Reading, PA 19605. Lutz Funeral Home, Inc. is in charge of arrangements.
