Obituary for Robert Ricker

ROBERT L. RICKER AUSTINTOWN – Robert L. Ricker, 88, passed away at Humility House on Thursday evening, June 27, 2013. He was born June 25, 1925, in Youngstown, to the late Russell and Louise (Schroeder) Ricker. Robert served our country in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II. He worked for the U.S. Postal Office in Youngstown for 20 years, retiring in 1990. Robert also served as volunteer fireman for the Austintown Fire Department for 35 years, where he retired as captain in 1990, and he delivered for the Pepsi Co. for 20 years. Robert was preceded in death by his two brothers, Roy and Fred Ricker. He leaves behind his loving wife of 64 years, Doris W. (Galey) Ricker. Robert also leaves behind his children, Robert “Bruce” (Carol) Ricker of Austintown, Dawn Ricker of North Lima, Edward (Chrisi) Ricker of Austintown and Eric Ricker of Austintown. There are also four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren surviving. Family will receive friends on Monday, July 1, 2013, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Lane Family Funeral Homes, Austintown Chapel. A service will follow at 1 p.m. Interment will be at Green Haven Memorial Gardens
