Obituary for Dennis K Keith

DENNIS KEVIN KEITH YOUNGSTOWN – Funeral services will be on Saturday, June 29, 2013, at 11 a.m. at the Thompson Funeral Home, 4221 Market St. in Boardman for Dennis Kevin Keith, 70, who died Tuesday evening, June 25, 2013, at Saint Joseph Health Center in Warren. Dennis was born Sept. 29, 1942, in Colver, Pa., the son of the late Daniel H. and Mary Jane (Williams) Keith. He moved to the Youngstown area in 1959 and graduated from South High School in 1960. He was an Air Force veteran, serving during the Korean Conflict. After his service time, Dennis worked as a press operator for General Fireproofing in Youngstown for over 20 years, retiring in 1984. Dennis was a member of Parents without Partners in Youngstown and this is where he met his wife, Betty. He was a volunteer at Angels for Animals and the West Side Cats. He enjoyed photography, working in his garden and cats. He is survived by his wife of 30 years, the former Elizabeth “Betty” J. Keller, whom he married on Jan. 29, 1983. Dennis leaves three children, David W. Keith of Sturgis, Mich., Kevin H. Keith of Grand Rapids, Mich. and Markham T. Keith of Three Rivers Mich.; five stepchildren, Anne Marie (Steven) Lutz of West Jefferson, John J. (Joan) Koss of Herndon, Va., Mary A. Koss of Akron, Paulette E. Koss of Glendora, Calif. and George J. (Lisa) Koss of Jackson Heights, N.Y.; a sister, Mary Jane Guimond of New Hampshire; and 11 grandchildren, Wesley, Simon, Miriam, Madeleine, Libby, Alex, Robert, Andrew, Michael, Nicole and Jennifer. Besides his parents, Dennis was preceded in death by three sisters, Nathalia Fero, Ardith Gagye and Beverly Luther; and three brothers, Daniel Keith, James Keith and Douglas Keith. Family and friends may call on Friday, June 28, 2013, from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Thompson Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the funeral home.
