Obituary for Geraldine M. Jones
Geraldine M. Jones, 77, of Jefferson, died Wednesday morning, June 19, 2013, at the Jefferson Healthcare Center where she had been a patient the past six months.
Born Sept. 24, 1935, in Bloomington, Md., she was the daughter of Elzy and Sara (Reed) Duckworth. She was married to Everett J. Jones on April 7, 1976, in Cumberland, Md. Mrs. Jones worked for many years at Tomkco in Painesville before taking disability retirement.
She had been a resident of Jefferson the past six years, coming from Euclid. Mrs. Jones was a member of the Bloomington Methodist Church, the Eastern Star and the Moose Lodge and also enjoyed camping and traveling.
Survivors include her husband, Everett; three stepchildren, Brenda Hursmen of Wooster, Wanda Jones of Akron and Kenneth Jones of Akron; five step-grandchildren; and three step-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and a sister, Pamela Miller.
Graveside services will be at noon on Monday, July 24 at Western Reserve Memorial Gardens in Chester Township with the Rev. Philip Kachersky of the Jefferson First Baptist Church officiating.
Calling hours will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the Funeral home.
