Obituary for David L Barnett
DAVID L. BARNETT
BAREFOOT BAY, FLA. – David L. Barnett, 73, longtime Canfield resident, died March 10, 2013, at Sebastian River Medical Center in Sebastian, Fla.
He was born Dec. 9, 1939, in Youngstown, a son of the late William and Mary L. Bickerstaff Barnett , and moved to Barefoot Bay in 2001 after his retirement from General Motors, where he had worked for 28 years.
David graduated in 1957 from Canfield High School and went on to serve in the U.S. Marine Corps He attended St. Luke Catholic Church in Barefoot Bay.
David enjoyed cycling, ballroom dancing, sprint car racing and especially spending time with his granddaughters.
David leaves his daughter, Kelly B. Chickos (Frank) of Twinsburg; three sisters, Eileen Davison of Columbus, Rose Milligan of Youngstown, and Patricia Morrison of Canfield; one brother, Bill Barnett of Girard; two granddaughters, Madison and Sydney Chickos of Twinsburg; and dear friend and sister-in-law, Rhoda Barnett of Barefoot Bay.
Besides his parents, David was preceded in death by his son, Darrin Barnett; and brothers Paul and Thomas Barnett.
Friends may call on Saturday, March 16, 2013, at the Lane Family Funeral Homes, 65 N. Broad St., Canfield Chapel from 11 a.m. until 12:30 p.m., followed by a service at 12:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
