Obituary for Henry W Landgraff
HENRY ''HANK'' W. LANDGRAFF JR
YOUNGSTOWN - Henry “Hank” W. Landgraff Jr., 81, died Saturday morning, March 2, 2013, at Caprice Health Center in North Lima.
Henry, affectionately know by many as “Hank,” was born Feb. 13, 1932, in Coraopolis, Pa., a son of the late Henry and Velma McCurdy Landgraff.
Hank was a 1950 graduate of Struthers High School, and shortly after graduation, served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean conflict. Upon his honorable discharge, he returned home and began working in the construction business. Hank first worked in drywall for Tom Ripple and then along with his brother, Bob, started their own business for several years called Expert Drywall Company. Hank later worked as a project coordinator, first for Arby’s, then the Original Cookie Company, and retired from Things Remembered.
Hank was a member of Christ Church Presbyterian, the former Esquire Club in Struthers, and the former Struthers Athletic Club. In his free time, Hank enjoyed bowling and golfing with the Vagabond Golf Group.
Hank leaves his wife, the former Beverly A. Clark, whom he married June 20, 1953; two daughters, Linda (Jack) Bergmann of Elma, N.Y. and Terri King of Austin, Texas; three sons, Henry W. Landgraff III of Struthers, John Landgraff of Boardman, and Lawrence “Clark” (Maureen) Landgraff of Washington, Pa.; one sister, Dolores Romeo of Struthers; two brothers, Robert (Beverly) Landgraff of Struthers and James (Carol) Landgraff of Lowellville; 11 grandchildren, Ashley, Jeffrey and Taylor Bergmann, Brittany King, Henry IV and Brian Landgraff and Amy (Phil) Settimo, Allissa and Zachary Landgraff, and Katina and Evan Landgraff; and one great-granddaughter, Isabella Settimo.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Christ Church Presbyterian in Youngstown, with Pastor Ben Graves officiating. Interment will follow at Green Haven Memorial Gardens.
Family and friends will be received Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home, Poland Chapel and Wednesday from 10 to 10:45 a.m. at the church, prior to the service.
