Joan E. (Frishkorn) Borowski (1938-2013)
Joan E. (Frishkorn) Borowski, 74, passed away March 5, 2013, at University Hospital in Cleveland.
She was born Nov. 21, 1938, in Cleveland, the daughter of Valentine and Frances (Cic) Frischkorn.
On Sept. 22, 1958, she married Bernard "Bernie" Borowski, her husband of almost 55 years.
Joan was an active member of St. Justin Martyr Church. She was on the Prayer Chain Committee, a volunteer at Lake West Hospital, and an avid supporter of the Humane Society; she especially loved cats. Joan was also a huge baseball fan and loved her Cleveland Indians. But the times she most enjoyed in life were those spent with her family, especially her grandchildren.
She is survived by her loving family, her husband, Bernie; her daughters, Lori L. (Britt) Lewis and Christy L. (Joseph) Goetz; her son, Brian S. Borowski; her grandchildren, Justin Lewis, Brittany Clonch and Lexi Goetz; her great-grandchildren, Kallyn and Mallorie; and her sister, Donna Stallman.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her sisters, Gail Woodward, Lois Davis and Marilyn Knaus.
Funeral Liturgy for her family and friends will be held at noon Saturday, March 9, at St. Justin Martyr Catholic Church, 35781 Stevens Blvd., Eastlake. Visitation will be held for her family from 11:30 a.m. until the start of the funeral at noon. Private burial will follow.
