Obituary for John Calvin Schweinsberg

JOHN CALVIN ''CAL'' SCHWEINSBERG BOARDMAN – Memorial services will be officiated by the Rev Michael Zabel at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Fox Funeral Home in Boardman, for John Calvin Schweinsberg, 79, who passed away peacefully Saturday afternoon. John was born Aug. 13, 1933, in New Castle, Pa., a son of John and Irene Harry Schweinsberg. He was a 1951 graduate of Vermilion High School and received a B.S. in Business Administration from Youngstown State University. His career started at Youngstown Sheet and Tube in 1953, and retiring in 1985 as a supervisor, he then went to work at Leemar Steel in Cleveland from 1985 to 1988, then Sharon Steel, finally retiring after working for Tom Bode. Cal was a member of the former Pilgrim Collegiate Church, where he was the treasurer and a member of the choir. He recently became a member of the Faith Community Covenant Church. John enjoyed woodworking and golfing. He was an Navy veteran. John leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, the former Norma L. Peters, whom he married Sept. 5, 1959; three sons, Mark D. Schweinsberg of Youngstown, Todd A. (Mary) Schweinsberg of Boardman and Brian K. Schweinsberg of Youngstown; a daughter, Terry L. (James) Glidewell of Boardman; a sister, Mary Wentzel of Tucson, Ariz.; and five, grandchildren, John Beaumont, Jared Beaumont, Sarah Beaumont, Jessica Schweinsberg and Josh Schweinsberg.
