Obituary for Martin Miller

MARTIN MILLER AUSTINTOWN - Private family services will be held later for Martin Miller, 95, who died Friday evening at Meridian Arms Care Center. Martin was born Dec. 4, 1917, in Ellwood City, Pa., the son of Andrew and Regina Herbert Miller. He volunteered as a teenager to serve in the Army during World War II. He was wounded in the Battle of the Bulge and was awarded the Purple Heart. After his service, he worked as a route salesman for Ward Bakery’s Tip Top Bread for 35 years, retiring in 1975. He then began a second career working at Komara Electronics, retiring in 1992. His wife, the former Patricia M. Baker, whom he married Sept. 8, 1940, died Sept. 30, 2005. He is survived by two sons, Ralph (Kathryn) Miller of Canfield, and Dale E. Miller of Falmouth, Mass.; a daughter, Judith L. (Larry) Burns of Liberty; eight grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by two brothers, John M. Miller and William Miller; and an infant sister.
