Obituary for Joanne Varisco
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, September 27, 2012 in the Delhomme Chapel of the Flowers for Joanne Grasso Varisco, 61, who passed away on September 24, 2012 at 3:30 pm at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center.
Reverend Keith LaBove, Pastor of St. Patrick Church, will conduct the funeral services.
Burial will take place in Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mrs. Varisco, a resident of Lafayette, LA, was the daughter of the late Michael Grasso and the former Maryann Reeves. She was a member of St. Patrick Church.
She is survived by two sons, Scott M. Varisco of Lafayette, LA and Christopher Todd Varisco and wife Kellie Giroir Varisco of Lafayette; four grandchildren, Alexis Taylor Varisco, Jude Michael Varisco, Ryan Christopher Varisco, and Peyton Chapman Pererro all of Lafayette; and three sisters, Nancy Grasso Duco of Pierre Part, LA, Marilyn Grasso Buford of Lafayette, LA and Eileene Grasso Duke of New Orleans, LA.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Michael Varisco, her father in law, Nutzie Varisco and her mother in law Margaret Varisco.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Delhomme Funeral Home of Lafayette on Wednesday, September 26, 2012 from 12:00 pm until 7:00 pm and on Thursday from 8:00 am until the time of service. A rosary will be recited in the funeral home Wednesday evening at 6:00 pm.
Pallbearers will be Ricky Buford, Mark Buford, Michael Buford, Kirtland Cobb, Todd Varisco, and Scott Varisco. Honorary pallbearers will be Jude Varisco, Ryan Varisco, Carl Mestayer and Rod Resweber.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family to help defray funeral expenses.
