Obituary for TIMOTHY DOUGLAS SULLIVAN
Timothy Sullivan, 57, passed away on Wednesday August 29, 2012, from a sudden illness at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines. In agreement with his wishes, cremation rites have been accorded.
Tim was born May 26, 1955, to Michael and Marjorie Sullivan in Des Moines, and graduated high school in 1973. He was an electrical technician for the Iowa State Patrol Garage for over 31 years. He retired in 2011. Tim was an avid hunter and fisherman, and spent many expeditions with his good friend, Bobby Gomez.
Tim’s greatest joy came from spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Tim is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Barbara; daughter, Marjorie (Tom) Heckler; grandsons, Gavin, Oliver, and Levi; brothers, Patrick (Jan) Sullivan of Rockford, IL and Kelly (Bert) Sullivan of Chandler, AZ; sister-in-law, Jill Sullivan of Davenport, IA; and a host of extended family and beloved friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, James Michael Sullivan.
A Celebration of Life will be held 10 a.m., Saturday, September 8, 2012, at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue, Des Moines, with burial to follow at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, at the funeral home.
