WARREN - Edith Louise Johnson, 88, 404 Ivanhoe St. N.E., died Thursday, March 22, 2012, at Briarfield at The Ridge, following an extended illness.
She was born Aug. 14, 1923, in Middletown, the daughter of Willie James and Pearly May Peevy Hall Sr. After her parents died, she was raised by her grandparents, James and Georgia A. Waters.
Mrs. Johnson was a self-employed housekeeper and a member of Grace AME Church.
She is survived by five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, caregiver and daughter-in-law, Alma Johnson Smith of Warren.
She was preceded in death by husband, Mackie Johnson II; one son, Mackie Johnson III; one brother and one sister.
Funeral services will be noon Wednesday at Grace AME Church. Calling hours are one hour prior to service at the church.
Burial will be in Green Haven Memorial Park.
Family will receive friends at 270 Comstock St. N.E., Warren.
