Obituary for Lois Steele
Lois X. (nee Coventry) Steele, 91, of Chardon, passed away March 16, 2012, at Hamlet Manor, Chagrin Falls.
She was born Jan. 18, 1921, and was a lifelong Chardon area resident.
Lois was a bookkeeper for Diemond Corp. and worked for the former Geauga Times Leader in Chardon.
She married Charles W. Steele on Sept. 29, 1939, in Shadyside. He preceded her in death in 1970.
Mrs. Steele was an avid reader and a very active member of the Church of Christ in Chardon. She was a very talented seamstress and did alterations for many people. She was the type of person that felt if something needed done, she would do it. Having been widowed at an early age, she did things on her own.
Survivors are daughter, Xlee (Howard) Miller of Beachwood; son, Charles Gregory "Greg" (Sharon) Steele of Newport; six grandchildren; 13 great-grandgrandchildren; sister, Sara Grader of Canton; and best friend, Juanita Hull and honorary member of the Hull family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles W. Steele; son, Roger L. Steele; and brother, Jim Ramsay.
Chardon. Mark Hull of Chardon Church of Christ will officiate at the services.
Burial will be in Western Reserve Memorial Gardens in Chester Township.
