Obituary for Margie J Briceland
Margie J. Briceland, age 85 of Massillon, passed away January 10, 2012. Margie was born March 16, 1926 in Massillon to the late Samuel & Bessie (Shawbell) Mauger. She attended Washington High School and was a Tiger Swing Band member. She retired in 1987 from Smith & Nephew where she had served as a union president. Margie served as secretary of Massillon Trades & Labor Council and was a member of Croation Lodge #600. Her passion for gardening and crafting will be remembered by family and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two children, David & Eddie; two brothers, Robert & Donald Mauger and special friend, Robert Bashoor. Margie is survived by five children, Marilyn (Paul) Britton, Elizabeth 'Betty' (Jim) Long, Thomas P. (Paula) Briceland, Steven (Cathy) Briceland, and adopted son Thomas M. Briceland; a sister and brother, Shirley Colopy and Glenn Mauger; ten grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 AM Saturday at St. Barbara Catholic Church. Burial will be at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens. Friends may call 5-8 PM Friday at the Paquelet Funeral Home.
