Obituary for Alberto Ciccone
ALBERTO CICCONE
STRUTHERS – There will be funeral services at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 8, 2011, at the Rossi Brothers & Lellio Funeral Home in Boardman followed by a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Nicholas Roman Catholic Church for Alberto Ciccone, 80, who peacefully passed away at home with his family by his side.
Albert was born March 9, 1930, in Pacentro, L’Aquila, Italy, the son of Carlo and Angela (Silvestri) Ciccone.
Alberto was a skilled craftsman, working in the tile and marble industry, a trade which he had learned in Venezuela after emigrating from Italy in 1949. He immigrated to the United States in 1955, and was employed at J.F. Bertollini, CerMar Systems and retired from AC Tile & Marble, which he founded and partnered with his youngest son, Tony.
He was a member of St. Nicholas Roman Catholic Church and the Pacentrano Club. Alberto enjoyed traveling with his wife, family and friends, spending time with his grandchildren and making homemade wine.
He will always be remembered by his wife, the former Rosaria LaRocca, whom he married Oct. 29, 1960; two sons, Carlo (Dorothy) Ciccone of Howland and Tony (Mary Jane) Ciccone of Poland; four grandchildren, U.S. Army Private Alberto Ciccone, Christian Ciccone and Michael and Alexa Ciccone; a brother, Giuseppe (Amalia) Ciccone of Sudbury, Ontario, Canada; many brothers- and sisters-in-law; and nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Sabatino Ciccone of Struthers and four sisters, Maria Mauri and Rosina Mauri, both of Ontario, Canada, Carolina LaLama of Sterling Heights, Mich. and Amalia Ciccone of Pacentro, Italy.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 7, 2011, at the Rossi Brothers & Lellio Funeral Home, 4442 South Ave. in Boardman.
