Obituary for James A Olesen

JAMES A. OLESEN BOARDMAN – Services will be held Friday at 1 p.m. at the Boardman United Methodist Church Chapel for James A. Olesen, 87, who passed away Monday morning at Hospice House. Mr. Olesen was born Dec. 24, 1923, in Cleveland, a son of Ole A. and Ella M. Bosch Olesen. He was a 1941 graduate of Boardman High School and a 1951 graduate of Purdue University. He had been employed by Wean United as an engineer for 23 years, retiring 1982. Jim was a U.S. Army veteran serving in World War II. His wife, the former Betty Graham, whom he married Sept. 15, 1951, died March 2, 2011. Surviving him are two daughters, Susan (Leonard) Berger of East Palestine and Sandy Olesen of Columbiana; a son, Jim (Patti) Olesen of Yorktown, Ind.; a brother, Lawrence N. Olesen of Poland; and four grandchildren, Keith (Becky) Berger, Jennifer Berger and Sarah (John) Sanor and Jameson Olesen; and also a great-grandson, Keith Ramon Berger. Preceding him in death besides his wife and parents, are a brother, Robert J. Olesen and a sister, Jane Harris. Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 12:50 p.m. at the church.
