Obituary for Shirley Moorehead

SHIRLEY A. MOORHEAD “Together Again” AUSTINTOWN – Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Tabernacle Evangelical Presbyterian Church in Austintown for Shirley A. Moorhead, 77, who entered into eternal rest late Wednesday morning at the Victoria House in Austintown. She was born April 22, 1933, in Apollo, Pa., a daughter of George and Nellie (Burns) Larimer, and she and her family came to this area in 1967. She was a 1951 graduate of Apollo High School. She worked for Alcoa Aluminum in Pittsburgh for three years and she also worked as a clerk for the Taste & Tell Bakery in Austintown for over 20 years. She was an active member of the Tabernacle Evangelical Presbyterian Church, where she was active in the bible study group. She was also an avid bowler at Amron Lanes and she enjoyed playing cards with her card club. Her true enjoyment was being with her family, especially her grandchildren and attending all of their events. She married Dale T. Moorhead, June 5, 1954, and he preceded her in death June 10, 1998. She is survived by two children, Tammy (Rick) VonSchwarz of Austintown and Jeff (Jenifer) Moorhead of Ashburn, Va. She also leaves behind three sisters, Joanne Cyphert, her twin of Apollo; Patricia (Don) Rupert of Ruffsdale, Pa. and Janet (Tom) Bittinger of Apollo; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandsons. Besides her husband, Shirley was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Kim Coudriet; and a granddaughter, Jessica Moorhead. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. today at the Lane Funeral Home, Austintown Chapel and from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Hospice of the Valley in Shirley’s memory.
