Obituary for Louis J Candio

LOUIS J. "UGIE" CANDIO “Together Again” NILES – Louis J. “Ugie” Candio, 93, died at 7 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 3, 2010, at Liberty Healty Care Center. He was born Jan. 11, 1917, in Niles, the son of Maurice and Maria Rizzi Candio. He was employed as a Die Setter at Youngstown Sheet and Tube for 42 years before retiring in 1979. He was a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church in Niles, San Fillipe Neri Lodge, Bagnoli Irpino Club, enjoyed golfing, gardening and was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II having served in the Pacific Theatre. His wife, Julia Franzoza Candio, whom he married June 7, 1947, died Sept. 30, 2008. He will be deeply missed by a son, David Candio of Madison, Ohio; a daughter, Linda Zagger and her husband, Raymond of Brookfield; a sister, Anne Orton of Parowan, Utah; and two grandchildren, Tiffany Zagger and Andrea Zagger. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Philip Candio, Sam Candio and John “J.C.” Candio; and three sisters, Brunetta “B.” Perry, Marie Pucevich and Elizabeth Murphy. Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church in Niles with Fr. Larry Frient officiating and where Louis will be honored for his military service by the Trumbull County American Legion Honor Guard. The family will receive friends following the Mass at The Marian Hall in the church
