Obituary for James Hughey

James Hughey YOUNGSTOWN – A Mass will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Immaculate Conception Church for James Hughey, 84, who departed this life Wednesday, April 28, 2010, at St. Elizabeth Health Center. Mr. Hughey was born June 4, 1925, in Abbeville, S.C., a son of Samuel and Mamie Campbell Hughey. He had worked as a mail handler for the U.S. Post Office, retiring in 1999, after 35 years. He was a member of the church, on the board of directors for the Buckeye Credit Union, a member of the National Association of Retired Postal Employees and Youngstown AARP and was a U.S. Navy veteran. He leaves his wife, the former Eleanor D. Taylor, whom he married April 11, 1953; two sons, Mark A. Hughey of Youngstown and Bruce E. (Denise) Hughey of Los Angeles; a brother, Otto (Ethel) Hughey Sr. and a sister, Diane McGee, both of Youngstown; two granddaughters; and three great-granddaughters. His parents; two sisters, Elizabeth Tynes and Elizabeth Williams; four brothers, Clifton, Richard, Edward and Ronald Hughey, preceded him in death
