Obituary for Elizabeth Gale McGough

Gale McGough YOUNGSTOWN – Gale McGough, 54, of the city’s west side, passed away Sunday morning, Feb. 28, 2010, at her home following an extended illness. Gale was born July 9, 1955, in Lexington, Ky., a daughter of the late James and Evelyn Denton Short, and came to the Youngstown area from Akron with her family in 1963. She was a 1973 graduate of Canfield High School and attended Youngstown State University. She was a retired administrative assistant from Short-Evegale Single Family Homes. Mrs. McGough was a member of the Mahoning United Methodist Church. Her husband, Raymond C. McGough, whom she married Dec. 8, 1979, passed away June 28, 1988. Gale leaves her daughter, Stacey (fiancé Robert Callahan) McGough of Waterford, Pa.; two sisters, Candy (Rick) Palmer of Boardman and Pam (Mark) Boston of Youngstown; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; and many extended family members. Gale will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her. Family and friends may call from 3 to 6 p.m. on Friday, March 5, at Kinnick Funeral Home, 477 N. Meridian Road in Youngstown, where funeral services will take place at 6 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made in Gale’s name to a charity of the donor’s choice
