Obituary for Jack Fairman

LIBERTY TOWNSHIP – There will be services at 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 15, 2011, at the Stewart-Kyle Funeral Home, for Jack L. Fairman, 80, who passed away Thursday, Aug. 11, 2011, at home surrounded by his loving family.

Jack was born July 26, 1931, in Indiana, Pa., a son of Walter and Marjorie Pounds Fairman.

He worked at General American Transportation for 22 years, and later was a school bus driver for Liberty School System. He also was a Liberty Township volunteer fireman.

He loved spending time with his family, and enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting. Jack was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during the Korean War.

He leaves his wife, the former Audrey P. Marshall, whom he married Feb. 16, 1959; his daughter, Victoria Ann (Loren) Groff of Humble, Texas; two grandchildren, Jimmy Krokoski Jr. and LeAnn Krokoski; and his dog, Ginger.

He also leaves his brothers, James Fairman, Thomas Fairman, Walter Fairman, and Joseph (Nancy) Fairman; his sisters, Alice Hager, Catherine (David) Williamson and Linda Liptak; and many nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Jack L. Fairman Jr. who passed away Jan. 9, 2010; his brother, Dick Fairman; and his sister, Margaret Genesi.

There will be calling hours on Sunday, Aug. 14, 2011, from 3 to 5 p.m. and Monday, Aug. 15, 2011, from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Stewart-Kyle Funeral Home.

Entombment will be at Green Haven Memorial Gardens with full military honors provided by the American Legion Honor Guard Post No. 540.

The family would like to thank the Comfort Keepers, and Hospice of the Valley for all the kind and compassionate care given to Jack.
