Obituary for KATHLEEN I DEAL

Kathleen I. Deal, 83, of the 4200 block of Grand Avenue died of a heart ailment Monday at home.  Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Union Park United Methodist Church, of which she was a member.  Burial will be at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Mrs. Deal was born in Columbia City, IN, and had lived in Des Moines for more than 65 years.  She was a retired administrator with Iowa Lutheran Hospital and had been active with various church organizations, women''s societies and national parent-teacher associations.

She is survived by a daughter, Judith Cornett of Urbandale; two sons, Randy of Kansas City, MO, and Larry of Atlanta; two sisters, Donna Gilliam of Des Moines, and Jean Oliver of Columbia City; three grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Merrill.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Hamilton''s Funeral Home.  Memorial contributions may be made to her church.
