Obituary for NANCY SOPHIA DONALDSON SHORT
Nancy S. Donaldson Short, 99, of USA Healthcare Center in Urbandale died of pneumonia Friday at the center, where she had lived four years. Services will be at 10 a.m. today at Hamilton''s Near Highland Memory Gardens Funeral Home, with burial at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Mrs. Short was born in Pana, IL, and had lived in the Des Moines area most of her life. She was a retired cafeteria worker with the Des Moines Public Schools and a member of Dean Avenue Church of Christ. She was a past president of Des Moines City Railway Ladies Auxiliary.
Surviving are three daughters, Mildred Creek of Green Valley, AZ, Etta Dorrell of Des Moines, and Imogene Sparks of Indianola; four sons, Earl, Merle and Will, all of West Des Moines, and Melvin of Lake of the Ozarks, MO; a brother, Chester Donaldson of Spokane, WA; 19 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and 13 great-great-grandchildren.
