AUGUST DEEVER RITES MONDAY
Services for August J. Deever, 36, of 1301 E. Oak Park Ave., who died Wednesday at Veterans Hospital in Iowa City, will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Hamilton Funeral Home. Burial will be in Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Mr. Deever, who had been ill 5 1/2 months, was a mechanic for the John Furman Contracting Co. He had lived in Des Moines all his life and served in the Coast Guard in World War II.
Surviving are his widow, Marie; four children, Katherine, 14, Nancy, 9, August, jr. (sic), 13, and Ricky, 10; his mother and stepfather, Mr. and Mrs. Lester Hill; a sister Mrs. Norma Fox; two brothers, Kenneth and Richard, and his paternal grandmother, Mrs. Nora Deever, all of Des Moines.
