Obituary for ELDON C BERGSTROM
Eldon Bergstrom, 78, of the 400 block of Southwest Oak Lane in Ankeny, died of a stroke Saturday at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines. The body was cremated, and memorial services will be at 2 p.m. today at Ankeny Presbyterian Church, of which he was a member.
Mr. Bergstrom was born in Ogden and had lived in Rock Springs, WY, and the Philippines before moving to Ankeny in 1969. He was a retired teacher and administrator with Des Moines Area Community College and North Polk Schools. He was a Navy Veteran of World War II and enjoyed volunteering at Saylorville Lake and Terrace Hill.
He is survived by his wife, Alice; a son, Lee of Norwalk, OH; a brother, Norman of Ogden; a sister, Geraldine Johnsen of Madrid; and a grandchild.
Memorial contributions may be made to his church or Mercy Hospice. Hamilton''s near Highland Memory Gardens Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
