Obituary for STEPHEN DENNIS SHAWVER
Stephen Dennis Shawver, 60, was called home to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, July 29, 2004 at InTrust Hospice Taylor House.
Services will be 2 p.m. Monday, August 2, at Grandview Park Baptist Church, with burial at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Stephen was born to Clarence and Selma (Thompson) Shawver on December 9, 1943 in Des Moines and was a U.S. Navy veteran. He retired as a custodian for the Des Moines Public Schools and was a member of Grandview Park Baptist Church.
Stephen is survived by his mother, Selma Shawver; sons, Perry (Chanon) Shawver and Terry "Mike" Shawver; sisters, Jude'''' (Dick) Higday, Jean Shawver and Joanne "Jan" Shawver; two grandchildren, Mason and Maddison; and an uncle, Charles Thompson. He was preceded in death by his father, Clarence and brother, Scott.
Visitation is from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Hamilton''s Funeral Homes. Memorials may be made to his church.
