Obituary for ARRAH VAUGHT GILCHRIST

Services for Mrs. Arrah Vaught Gilchrist, 77, of the Iowa Lutheran Home, 1101 Grandview ave., who died there Friday of cancer, will be at 1 p.m. Monday at the Grandview Funeral Home. The body will be cremated. A native of Nevada, IN, she had lived in Des Moines 30 years. She was a member of the Eastern Star, WCTU and of the First Church of Christ Scientist. Survivors include eight daughters, Mrs. Helen L Beaver of Oklahoma City, OK, Mrs. Jeannette Moore of Baldwin Park, CA, Mrs. Nancy Tuttle of Long Beach, CA, Mrs. Corrine LaFleur of Bellflower, CA, Mrs. Janice McMahan of Atlantic, GA, Mrs. Darline Sattler of Santa Barbara, CA, Mrs. H. Catherine Duerr of Boulder, CO, and Mrs. Joan Schaffer of Des Moines; eight sons, James of Norfolk, VA, Darland and Keith, both of Pacifica, CA, Corliss, John, Willard, Kenneth and Gene, all of Des Moines; a brother, James Richards of Des Moines; two sisters, Vida Clark of Minneapolis, MN, and Mrs. Sarrah Lemons of Mountain Grove, MO; 48 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
