Obituary for JAMES A QUICK
James A. Quick, 60, of Rural Route 2, Ankeny, died of a heart ailment and complications of diabetes Tuesday at Iowa Methodist Medical Center. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Hamilton''s Near Highland Memory Gardens Funeral Home. Burial of the cremains will be at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Mr. Quick, a lifelong resident of the Des Moines area, retired in 1994 after 32 years as a Des Moines police officer. He had served in the Army Reserves and was a member of Izaak Walton League, the Iowa and Des Moines Police Associations, and Iowa Chiefs of Police Association.
He is survived by his wife, Judy; three daughters, Dana Quick-Naig of Johnston, and Jamie Quick and Wendy Quick, both of Ankeny; his father, Al Quick, and a sister, Karin Bardsley, both of Des Moines; and a grandchild.
Memorial contributions may be made to Izaak Walton League or the American Kidney Association.
