Obituary for DONALD L ABSHIRE
Donald L. Abshire, 65, of Phoenix, Ariz., died of a heart attack Thursday at Maricopa Medical Center there. Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Arcadia Funeral Home in Phoenix. Burial and graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery in Des Moines.
Mr. Abshire was born in Evansville, Ind., and had lived in Des Moines 15 years before moving to Arizona 15 years ago. He was a retired consultant to food brokers and was a member of Gospel Assembly church in Des Moines.
Survivors include his wife, Virginia; two sons, Donald of Des Moines and Gary of Moore, Okla; two daughters, Carol Foster and Beckey Krier of Des Moines; his mother, Edith Abshire, and a a brother, Bill, both of Phoenix; and seven grandchildren.
The family will greet friends at the graveside services in Des Moines. Memorial contributions may be made to his church.
