Obituary for LESLIE DALE SWAIM
Leslie Dale Swaim, 90, died Sunday, April 11, 2010 after a short illness.
Leslie "Dale" was born March 18, 1920, in Paton, IA, to Blanche and Leslie Swaim. Dale loved to garden and specialized in flowering plants. He was a good natured, good hearted man, quick-witted with an easy smile.
Dale belonged to the American Legion, Epworth United Methodist Church and was a WWII Veteran serving from 1942-1946.
Dale is survived by his wife of 67 years, Dorothy "June" Swaim; his son, Allan Dale Swaim, West Des Moines; daughter, Kathleen Lynn Grunder, Chesapeake, VA; son- in-law, Michael Grunder; and two grandchildren, MacKenzie Michael, and Alexa-Brooke Grunder. Dale was preceded in death by a son, Ronald Gail Swaim; and parents, Blanche and Leslie.
A private burial will take place at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, Dale always donated to the Bethel Mission.
