Obituary for JUANITA HELEN DOUD
Juanita Helen Doud, 84, was born August 15, 1925 in Des Moines, the daughter of Erven and Alice (Stoops) Higdon. She passed away peacefully Monday, February 1, 2010 at Kavanagh House on 56th St. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, February 9, 2010 at Hamilton''s Southtown Funeral Home with burial to follow at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery. Juanita is survived by her daughters, Cheryl Doud and Michele (Mike) Bowers; grandchildren, Michael (Tenishia Gaines) Cook, Chelsea Cook, Morgan Cook, Brandon Bowers, Justin Bowers and Nicholas Bowers; great-granddaughter, Lilah Cook; siblings, Lorraine Gustafson of Tennessee, Norma Jean Ihle of Nevada, Iowa, Donald Higdon and Elmer Higdon, both of Des Moines and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Richard Doud; her sisters, Margaret Rose and Marian Houk and her parents. The family will greet friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, February 8, 2010 at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the family in loving memory of Juanita.
