Obituary for ROBERT TAYLOR WHITE

Robert Taylor White of 409 S.E. Delaware Ave., Ankeny, died of Lou Gehrig''s disease Wednesday at home. He was 78. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Ankeny Funeral Home. Burial will be in Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery in Des Moines. Mr. White was born in Polk City and lived in Ankeny 45 years. He retired from Super Value Stores Inc. and was a member of Ankeny First United Methodist Church. Survivors include his wife, Doris; three daughters, Charlene Hildreth, Dolores Lein and Roberta Fredericks, and a son, Robert II, all of Ankeny; a sister, Edna Carpenter of Pittsburg, Kan.; a brother Charles of Milford; 16 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren. Friends may call from 5 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to his church.
