Obituary for JOHN HOWARD RITCHHART
John Howard Ritchhert, 90, of the 2200 block of 33rd Street died of complications of Parkinson''s disease Saturday at Hospice Kavanagh House on 56th Street. Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Westover Funeral Home, with burial in Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Mr. Ritchhart was born in New Virginia and had lived in Indianola before moving to Des Moines in 1938. He was a retired district sales manager for Firestone Tire Co. and a member of First United Methodist Church and Masonic Lodge in Indianola.
He is survived by his wife, Valborg; two sons, Brian of Everett, WA; and John of Hamburg, Germany; a daughter, Louise Ritchhart of Des Moines; and six grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to his church or Hosice Kavanagh House.
