Obituary for JULIA T LOMBARDO

Julia Teresa Lombardo of Reading passed away on October 23, 2022 at St Joseph’s Hospital Penn State Health while in the care of Heartland Hospice. For 64 years she was the beloved wife of Felix Lombardo who passed away on April 28, 2014. Felix and Julia were married on May 7, 1949.  Born on May 10, 1929, in Reading, she was the daughter of the late Nicholas and Rose (Cirulli) Roccamanta.

Julia graduated from St. Peters Catholic High School in 1947. During her working career, she was employed in the banking industry, retiring from CoreStates in 1992.  Upon her retirement, Felix and Julia traveled the US for six weeks. During their retirement together, they took many trips, especially enjoying a family trip to Italy in 2004. Julia was a member of St. John Baptist de La Salle where she was a member of the Primetimers and Breaking Bread groups. A lifelong Catholic, Julia felt special spiritual connection to Padre Pio.

“Nana” loved baking chocolate cake and feeding the family often as she did over many years. Family was everything to her. She loved caring for and being with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren as they brought great joy to her life. Julia loved flowers and decorating her home inside and out with beautiful blooms.

She is survived by her son, Deacon Felix Joseph, husband of Lois, Wyomissing; and daughter, Janine L. Tiffany of West Lawn, wife of Mark McDevitt; and grandchildren, Felicia, Joshua, Michael and Daniel and great-granddaughters Emilia, Giulia and Ruby.  Julia was predeceased by her brother, Nicholas Roccamanta.    

A Mass of Christian Burial of Thanksgiving for Julia’s life will be celebrated at St. John Baptist de la Salle church, 42 Kerrick Rd, Shillington, PA 19607 on Saturday, October 29, 2022 at 10:00am. The family will receive relatives and friends at the church from 8:45am-9:45 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St John Baptist de La Salle Church, 420 Holland Street, Shillington, PA 19607 in Julia’s memory.
