Obituary for Ms. Charlotte Marts

Charlotte Neuman Marts, 91, of Milton, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 15, 2023, at Evangelical Community Hospital, Lewisburg.

Born in York on Sept. 22, 1932, she was the daughter of the late J. Wildrick and Irma (Renner) Neuman.

Charlotte was a graduate of William Penn High School and the University of Pennsylvania. She was the former owner of W.L. Donnehower Sporting Goods Store in Lewisburg.

She was a lifetime member of Trinity Lutheran Church where she served on the Altar Guild and was a devout follower of The Shepherd's Chapel. She never missed voting in an election and was a long-time member of the Garden Club. She loved spending time with friends, neighbors, and family, gardening, traveling, going out for dinner, playing bridge, and being a Nana.

Charlotte is survived by four children, Thomas (Sandy) Marts, Anne (Tony) Fannick, Leslie (David) Velz, and Eric Marts; six grandchildren, Stephanie Marts, Lindsey (Jim) Bishop, Gregory (Kimberly) Marts, Alyssa Fannick, Tony Fannick, and Elke (Quentin) Steinke; four great-grandchildren, Dominic and Riley Marts and Lila and Evan Bishop; a brother, Edward Neuman; two nephews, Edward Jr. (Kathy) Neuman and David Neuman; a niece, Elizabeth Snyder; an aunt, Doris Sheffer; a cousin, Donald Neuman, and the extended family of the late Dr. Arthur (Ann) Gelnett.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas E. Marts Jr.

Private burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery, York.
