Obituary for Mr. Juan R Torrens

Juan R Torrens, 97 of Vermillion, died Sunday, July 31, 2022, at Mill Manor Care Center.

He was born on April 28, 1925, in Trujillo Alto, Puerto Rico, and was a longtime resident of Lorain and then Vermilion, Ohio.

Juan loved and missed his companion of 35 years, Judy L Kirby, who preceded him in death in 2019. He was a painter at US Steel, Fruehauf, and American Ship until retirement. He enjoyed social clubs and a beer on the rocks with a Kessler on the side. He was an avid fan of the Cleveland Indians/Guardians, he also enjoyed movies, especially Westerns, and loved to read .

Juan is survived by his children, Martha, Jean, Jane, William, Michelle, Anthony, Raymond, and Judy & Ken, their spouses, 15 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by former wife and loving mother of his children, Emily M. Torrens, in 2008.

His remains will be interred at Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst, OH 44001, Section X Columbarium, Grave 69.

There will be no service or gathering at this time.
