Evelyn K. Pollock

January 22, 1945 – October 31, 2023

Evelyn Kay Pollock died Tuesday, October 31, 2023 at Lancaster General Hospital in Lancaster, PA. She was 78 years old. She was born January 22, 1945, at Taylor Hospital in Ridley Park, PA and is the oldest child of Thomas Ernest and Sarah Jean (Kasley) Rowdon, Sr. She graduated from Interboro High School with the class of 1963. Evelyn married LeRoy Francis Heckman, Jr. on October 23, 1964 in Elkton, MD. They had two children, Edward Roy and April Kay. They later divorced in October 1979. She married Roger Bruce Pollock on June 7, 1980 at Olivet Presbyterian Church in Prospect Park, PA. They had one son, Bruce David. They were married until Roger’s death on August 29, 2018. She had many types of jobs over the years. The jobs usually involved using her creative side or helping others in some way. Evelyn really enjoyed crafting and creative things, singing in various choirs, and had a special connection with her many canine companions.

She is survived by: her children, Edward (Leanne) Heckman of Orrstown, PA; April (Barry) Plassman of Cedar Falls, IA; and Bruce (Debra) Pollock of Norwood, PA;  her siblings, James (Judy) Rowdon of West Chester, PA; Phyllis (Charles) Meek of Myerstown, PA; Lesley (Steve) Slepner of Marlton, NJ; and Thomas (Susan) Rowdon, Jr. of Brookhaven, PA; her grandchildren, Alicia Heckman, Caleb Heckman, Edrea Heckman, Renee Plassman and Simon Plassman; and her great-grandchild, Olivia. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roger Pollock and her parents, Thomas Ernest and Sarah Jean Rowdon, Sr.

In lieu of flowers, her family requests donations be sent to Servant Stage, 201 W. Main St., Strasburg, PA 17579. Evelyn especially enjoyed going to their performances at every opportunity.

Interment in Arlington Cemetery in Drexel Hill, PA.
