Obituary for Dorothy "Dottie" J. Devlin

Dorothy "Dottie" Jane Devlin (nee Fitzpatrick) passed away on May 21,2023, at he age of 99, in Philadelphia, where she was born on June 3, 1923. She was a loving mother to Mandy Devlin Gabel (Bill) and Thomas Devlin, Jr. (Karen), grandmother of Jamie and Gregg Gottschling, Holly Gottschling Adelmann, Casey and Grant Devlin. She also had nine great-grandchildren.    
 
Dottie was a kind-hearted and unselfish person who loved nothing more than spending time with her family. She was known for her warm personality and her ability to make everyone feel important and welcome.She attended St. Martin of Tours elementary school and Frankford High School.    
 
During World War II Dotty worked at various factories for the war effort. After her children were older she worked as a sales person in many department stores, including Wanamaker's, Gimbel's, Stern"s and Macy's.
 
Dottie enjoyed reading the newspaper from cover to cover and doing the crossword puzzles every day. She was a parishioner at St. Cecilia's and later St. Matthew's in Conshohocken.
 
Dottie was enrolled in the Humanities Gifts Registry and the donation of her remains will be used to benefit science
