Bernadette “Netty” Mackay Davis, 63, passed away peacefully on April 27, 2023, at her Wyomissing home. Born in Reading, she was the daughter of the late William Paul Mackay and Patricia Ann Cullen. Netty graduated from Holy Name High School in 1977 and then Marymount University in Arlington, VA. in 1979 with a degree in Recreational Management which served her well throughout her life. She was employed at Amfac Travel in Washington, DC in tour and travel sales. Netty later relocated to New York City and applied her wonderful sense of style to work as a creative garment designer for the fashion brand, Pavo Real.

Upon retirement, Netty devoted her love and time volunteering at the Children’s Aid and Family Services as well as The Valley Hospital in Ridgewood, NJ, where she called home for 35 years. Netty’s summers and holidays were filled with entertaining family and friends at her beachside home in Mantaloking, NJ where guests would be treated to great food and wine with her favorite show tunes playing late into the night.

Netty is survived by her sisters: Sharon Loose of Wyomissing; Maureen McDonough, wife of Timothy, of Wyomissing; Mary Joanne McDermott, wife of Brad, of Chestnut Hill Philadelphia, and Rosemary Olsen of Windsor, CA. Netty’s life also included sharing her kind heart, generosity and love for family with 13 nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Netty was predeceased by her beloved furry friends, Gigi and Spike.

A Celebration of Life Mass will be held Wednesday, May 10, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at the Sacred Heart Chapel on Alvernia University Campus. The visitation will be held 1 hour before the Mass. Interment at Gethsemane Cemetery will be private.
