Obituary for Mr. Nevin Franklin Hess

Nevin Franklin Hess, 71, of Richmond Township, formerly of Lenhartsville, passed away on Sunday, January 15, 2023 in Tower Health - Reading Hospital, West Reading.

Born in Rockland Township, Nevin was a son of the late Nevin E. and Verna V. (Gift) Hess and was a graduate of Brandywine Heights High School. Nevin honorably and faithfully served his country in The United States Marine Corps for over 17 years, with service during the Vietnam War. 

Throughout his career, Nevin was employed by The United States Postal Service, East Penn Manufacturing Co., Inc., Lyons, Bimbo Bakeries, Fogelsville, S&S Structures, Inc., Fleetwood, Advanced H2O, Hamburg, and Lowes, Hamburg. 

He was a member of Zion Moselem Lutheran Church, Richmond Township, and Hamburg Moose #992. Nevin enjoyed fishing and hunting. 

Nevin is survived by his companion Phyllis J. (Manmiller) Stitzel, with whom he resided; two children, Adam B. Hess, Mertztown, and Wendy (Hess) Scott, Fleetwood; four grandchildren, Logan, Levi, Mia and Zane; and three sisters, Brenda (Hess) Weinhold, Theresa Hess, and Tracey Hess; and was predeceased by a brother, Randy Hess.

Services for Nevin, concluding with military honors will be held privately in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, PA.
