Obituary for Kevork Nevshehirlian

Kevork Nevshehirlian, age 95, of Mount Laurel, NJ, passed away on January 1, 2023.  Born in Bazargic, Bulgaria, he was the son of the late Stepan and Dikranouhi Nevshehirlian. 

 

Kevork moved to Bucharest, Romania with his parents when he was two years of age.   Kevork married his wife, Sofica, in 1957.  In 1963, they moved to Beirut, Lebanon to escape communist rule and to establish a path to the United States.  In 1964, they immigrated to America and settled in Philadelphia, PA to create a better life for their family.  

 

Kevork enjoyed working as Production Manager for the Quickie Manufacturing Corporation, where he was employed for 35 years. 

 

Kevork was an avid stamp and coin collector.   He loved watching sports on television especially the Philadelphia sports teams.   He enjoyed spending time with family, especially his granddaughters and great-grandchildren, playing cards and backgammon with his friends and family, going to the casino, and vacationing in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina and the Catskill Mountains.  

 

Kevork is survived by his beloved wife, Sofica (nee Constantinescu) and his loving children Mary Sabatine (Tony) and Stepan Nevshehirlian (Carolyn).  He was the dear grandfather of Kristina D’Valentine (Mike), Cheri Helgesen (Brad), Kira Nevshehirlian and Julia Nevshehirlian.  Great-grandfather of Cameron D’Valentine, Lucas Helgesen, Dylan D’Valentine, Harper D’Valentine and Charlotte Helgesen.
