Obituary for PHYLLIS L. YOUNG

Phyllis L. Young, 63, formerly of Reading, passed away Wednesday, November 9, 2022 at 4:43 am at the home of her son Chris S. Young in Wyomissing.  She was the wife of the late Donald R. “Chunk” Young, Jr. who passed away July 16, 2022.  Born in Reading, Mrs. Young was the daughter of the late Frederick and Natalie (Mobilio) DeTemple.  She was employed by Prostat in Reading as a nursing staffing manager for 15 years retiring September 2022.  Mrs. Young is survived by her sons Chris S. Young, loving companion of Heather A. Davis with home she last resided and Brandon M. Young at home.  She is also survived by her grandson Mason Young and was preceded in death by her brother Frederick DeTemple in 1958.  Mrs. Young loved animals, especially her cats, enjoyed going to the beach and was loved her Mustang cars. 

Funeral Service will be held at Bean Funeral Home, 129 East Lancaster Ave. Shillington Thursday, November 17, 2022 at 10:00 am.  Reverend Kerry L. Hicks will officiate.  Interment will follow at Gethsemane Cemetery.  The family will receive relatives and friends at Bean Funeral Home Wednesday November 16, 2022 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm and Thursday from 9:00 am to 10:00 am.  In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Humane Pennsylvania 1729 North 11th Street, Reading, PA 19604 in memory of Mrs. Phyllis L.
