Obituary for PATRICIA ANN HILLS JONES

Patricia Ann Hills-Jones, 77, passed away Saturday, December 25, 2021, at MercyOne Des Moines Medical Center. Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, January 4, 2022, at Iles Grandview Park Chapel. Private inurnment will be held at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery at a later date.

Pat was born September 14, 1944, in Belle Plaine, Iowa, to Loren and Libby (Vratny) Bohmke. She married Fred Hills on May 12, 1963 (died in 1999) and later married Gary Jones in 2005. Pat worked as a Claims Specialist for State Auto Insurance for 30 years. She was a member of South Side Senior Center. Pat worked part time for Park Avenue Hy-Vee in her retirement.

Pat enjoyed playing cards, crafts and craft shows, and “Girls card night.”

Pat is survived by her daughter, Kim Bodine, sister, Jean Bohmke, four grandchildren, Michelle (Pat) Rollins, Nicole Barber, Ashley Routh, and Dillion (Jessica) Barber; seven great-grandchildren, Evan, Morgan, and Logan Tingwald, Sean Rollins, Miriah, Ellie, and Dominic Barber; great-great grandson, Lorenzo Smith-Tingwald and her long-time companion, Larry Campbell. She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, Fred and Gary, brother, Robert Bohmke, her daughter Lee Ann Hills and her grandson, Chad Hills.

The family will receive friends from 5 - 7pm Monday, January 3, at Iles Grandview Park Chapel. Contributions may be made to the family for a memorial to be directed later.
