Obituary for Mrs. Lydia W. Sensenig

Lydia W. (Martin) Sensenig, 89, of Maxatawny Township, died Saturday, September 18, 2021, in hospice care after a brief illness.  She was the widow of Paul Z. Sensenig, who died August 7, 1997.  Born in Caernarvon Township, Lancaster County, she was a daughter of the late Elam K. and Lydia W. (Weaver) Martin.  She was a member of Groffdale Conference of Mennonites and attended Center Mennonite Church, Kutztown.

 

Lydia worked at various stands at Renninger's Farmers Market, Kutztown, for many years.  She was a quilter and was actively quilting until recently.  Lydia had quilted well over 100 quilts.  She also quilted for Wooden Bridge Dry Goods, Kutztown.  

 

Lydia enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

 

Lydia is survived by a son, Lester M., husband of Brenda A. (Hartline) Sensenig, Fleetwood. There are two grandsons:  Jerry E. Sensenig, fiance of Maureen Lewis, Oley, and their two children, Blake and Kylie; and Jesse K. Sensenig, fiance of Ashley Donchess, Fleetwood, and great grandson, Wesley P. Sensenig.  Other survivors include: two sisters, Elva W. (Martin) widow of Elvin G. Brubaker, Stevens, Lancaster County; Bertha W. (Martin), wife of Elam N. Leid, Shoemakersville.  In addition to her husband and parents, Lydia was predeceased by: siblings: Aaron W. Martin; Harvey W. Martin; Alvin W. Martin; Ammon W. Martin; Floyd W. Martin; and Ellen W. (Martin) Martin.

 

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 23, 2021, at 1:30 p.m. at Center Mennonite Church, Kutztown, with Bishop Eli W. Burkholder, officiating.  Interment in the Church Cemetery.  Relatives and friends are invited to a viewing on Wednesday, September 22, 2021, from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 - 8 :00 p.m. at the late residence, 599 Baldy Road, Kutztown. Kindly omit flowers.
